Welcome to my website. This is a portfolio of my writing work. Hope you have a nice stay!
Hola!
My name is Margaret - you can call me Margs.
My love for writing and magazines started when I was eight or nine years old - in primary school. I remember constantly reading and writing - my favourites were Judy Blume novels, followed closely by The Babysitters Club and the Goosebumps series. As soon as I was 'old enough' I spent my pocket money on Dolly and Girlfriend magazines, and read them religiously. I knew early on that writing was my passion and that I would "write for a magazine" one day.
Fast forward 20 something years and, today, I'm living my dream. I'm currently the deputy editor, digital editor and features writer at Australian Triathlete Magazine based in Melbourne, Australia. I also write the popular web series Shenanigans of a Deputy 2.0 for the magazine.
Over the years I have also worked with various other digital and print publications including Oxygen Magazine, Women's Health and Fitness, Men's Muscle and Health, Signs Magazine and www.witsup.com in a wide range of content and consulting capacities.
I'm a passionate and highly creative features writer, editor and photographer, and have a background in nutrition and dietetics - I'm a qualified clinical and sports dietitian. I'm also a long course age-group triathlete and endurance junkie. I love participating in triathlon and running events.
In my spare time I love to run, ride bikes, swim, peruse bookstores, go to the movies and over indulge on popcorn, and to drink wine while attempting to 'Master Chef' in the kitchen ('Margs' Kitchen Rules' - ha!).
